Siting of wind farm is critical for the construction of wind farm, arrangement of the wind turbines directly determines the effectiveness of the optimization of wind farms, and there are extremely important to its economy. Genetic Algorithm is a global optimization algorithm, universal, parallel resistance, easy to operate and stability, and has been applied in various scientific fields. It is suitable for wind farm micro-siting to achieve more reasonable and effective arrangement of wind turbines, however, literature and related software did not give a specific optimization program, which makes us working independently to develop program more practical.For multi-permutation large wind farms wind turbine, wind turbines optimized arrangement of seats to minimize wind turbine wake effects, while also full use of land and wind resources, as much as possible to arrange the wind turbine. Therefore, there must be an optimum return arrangement manner.This paper describes the influence of topography on of wind farm micro-siting, realizing complex terrain visualization by Matlab programming. It introduces the relevant knowledge of wind measurement, including the relevant instruments of measuring wind direction and speed. And primarily on the wind data processing, as well as related content about wind speed data unreasonable processing approach: wind shear index calculation methods is specifically described, using a ground-year wind data of 2006, the program calculates the wind data to achieve different models calculation and comparison of wind turbines.It also introduces wind farm micro-siting common algorithm:Genetic Algorithm, as well as wind farm micro-siting in the art methods, techniques, route specific operation, as well as the Weibull distribution which is used in wind farm micro-siting more effectively. The improvement and utilization of Genetic Algorithm in wind farm micro-siting, and assumptions and concrete steps of wind farm micro-siting optimization are pointed. Improved Genetic Algorithm, based on CFD calculations, in Matlab implements explore wind farm micro-siting, which also includes:analysis of the cost function, the wind turbine characteristic analysis by polynomial fitting methods, and the objective function introduces the concept of marginal revenue. Provide a solid foundation for the further realization of China’s self-developed wind farm siting software implementation.
