Wind energy, the most mature form of renewable energy technology currently, has a broad space for development. While double-fed wind turbines as the most mainstream wind turbines, their operating characteristics are particularly important for the power grid and the unit itself. As a electric unit which feeds power into the grid, it is vital to research the output power characteristics and operating characteristics during grid fluctuations. Therefore, it must carry out in-depth study of the operating characteristics of doubly-fed turbines, but the actual test unit is not only dangerous but also consumable, and unable to conduct quantitative analysis features under uncontrollable natural conditions. As a result, use simulation technology to build mathematical model of double-fed wind turbines’ sub-module, and design its converter control strategy. Based on mentioned before, establish simulation software of double-fed machine to study the output characteristics and electromagnetic properties under different operating conditions of wind turbines. All the means seek to provide data support of the control strategy development and security method design. The main works of this thesis are:(1) Based on Electrical Theory and motion characteristics of the unit, set up the voltage equation, flux equation, torque equation, motion equation of generator and converter, then establish the power model to simulate the grid situation. With the support of the establishment of wind turbine model and transmission chain model, providing the basis for the software design;(2) Build up control strategy for rotor side and network converter side of doubly-fed wind turbine according to the equation established above. Verify the validity of the control strategy in static and dynamic situations through simulation analysis. Amend control strategies;(3) Use Visual Studio language to design simulation software, verifying the feasibility and accuracy of simulation platforms. Study the operating characteristics when Double-fed units at single-phase with the grid voltage sag. and test the platform.
