In the constantly liberalized electricity market environment, demand response (DR) has become an important interactive resource of grid operation, which benefit the arising and development of active distribution network (ADN). Through participating in the interactive operation of distribution, DR can not only help to improve reliability of the system and the utilization of the equipment, but also have the ability to relieve remarkably the congestion of supply path in order to reduce the load loss during distribution fault. Due to DR’s complex operating characteristics, there could be more analysis and modeling difficulty about ADN’s service restoration. Thus, taking DR’s participation in the faulted ADN as the research background, the active distribution network service restoration model considering demand response characteristics is established, and the rapid and effective algorithm for this model is proposed together through which the capacity of DR’s improving faulted distribution operation level can be acquired. In this paper the attributes of node status variables and the switch status linear model is presented, based on which the faulted distribution network’s Kirchhoffs linear equations restricted by node status variables are established by applying linearization technique. And then the mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model of optimal power flow (OPF) in faulted distribution network is formed whose decision variables are node status variables. Case study indicated the validity and efficiency of the model. In view of that the MILP method for service restoration based on node status optimization only deal with the service restoration problem of certain system section, the sequential load capacity optimization model is formed whose decision variables are controllable load’s interrupt status and load payback ststus. And on the basis of service restoration model on a single system section the ADN service restoration bi-level integer programming model considering DR is formulated. In order to solve the ADN service restoration bi-level integer programming model accurately and rapidly, the algorithm combining integer programming and particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied. Case study indicate the validity of service restoration integer programming model considering DR and the efficiency of its algorithm.
