Coupling as an important part in mechanical transmission system, it has been widely used in every corner of the industry. With the development of permanent magnet materials technology, magnetic coupling are slowly and widely applied to mining machinery, wind power, petrochemical and other industries with its non-contact transmission,soft start, no pollution and low noise characteristics. Coupling has gradually become an important branch of the coupling development.In this paper,combine the squirrel cage induction motors and structural characteristics of the general magnetic coupling,apply the double-cage asynchronous motor rotor structure into the magnetic coupling, thereby obtaining a double-cage structure permanent-magnet eddy-current coupling. The coupling not only avoid the common problem of demagnetization of permanent magnet coupling occurs in a high temperature environment, but also can be used for frequently starting and higher starting performance occasions requirements of the workplace.In the paper, firstly, combine with the general magnetic coupling and double-cage induction motor cage structure features,designing the overall structure of permanent-magnet eddy-current coupling. Then use of equivalent magnetic circuit method and energy flow relationship derive the electromagnetic torque theory formula. Analysis three different inner rotor groove through the ASOFT Maxwell. Combined with theoretical formulas and analysis results obtain the performance characteristics of double-cage permanent-magnet eddy-current coupling,and analyse the transmission performance of the coupling structural parameters. And then based on the basic principle of heat transfer, relying on the Workbench platform study the coupling temperature rise distribution. Conclusions proof that outer rotor permanent magnet within the allowable operating temperature range. Finally, through prototype testing to verify the finite element analysis method has good feasibility and accuracy.
