Water supply network is an significant part of urban infrastructure. Because of the high cost of investment and operation, water supply pipe has a great potential for energy saving. Improving the performance and reliability of water supply network, and reducing the energy consumption of the water supply system, for the healthy development of water supply enterprises, improving the economic benefits of water supply enterprises play a decisive role. Because water supply pipe network has large investment and complex system,and involves many factors, the early construction was short of planning guidance, and operational management existed unreasonable phenomenon, which caused to an increase in the cost of the water supply enterprise. In recent years, our country gradually increases the reconstruction projects of water supply pipe. By calculating and optimizing model of network, we found out weak links and the bottleneck of water supply pipe, targeted for pipe network optimization. Improving the efficiency of funds utilization and enhancing the stability of the whole water supply system, which avoided the blindness of pipe network transformation, and had vital guidance and practical significance.Based on research purposes of the urban water supply pipe network hydraulic optimization and energy saving transformation. Simulation analysis was carried out on the water supply pipe network in the east of Zhuhai. Combined with the regional water supply pipe network transformation and optimization, it systematically researched network optimization and efficiency improvements, etc.The following results are obtained in this paper:(1) Based on the basis of full investigation and date collection of water supply network, we established the hydraulic model of the regional pipe network and verified the accuracy of the model. Using the model to simulate the working condition of the pipe network, the guarantee rate of pipe network is 78.72%,54.96% and 76.24% under three accident conditions. Finding out the weak links in pipe network and water supply bottlenecks and determining areas for pipe network transformation.(2) The results that the optimal selection of pipes and the energy saving of pipe network show that the optimal selection of pipe was closely related to the energy saving and initial investment of water supply network. By performance comparison of the common water supply pipe, we found that the hydraulic performance of the piastic pipe is the best, which is the most enery saving in operation. Considering comprehensively the factors such as water quality, hydraulic condition, reliability and economy, by comprehensive evaluation method, we carried out optimization selection of water supply pipe. Above DN1400, evaluation coefficient of PCCP is the highest; DN1000-DN1400, evaluation coefficient of steel pipe is the highest; greater than or equal to DN300 and less than DN1000, evaluation coefficient of Ductile Cast Iron pipes is the highest; less than DN300, evaluation coefficient of plastic pipe is the highest.
