With the rise in national income, the number of car ownership of urban residents is increasing gradually. However, it has resulted in the serious traffic congestion and frequently occurred traffic accidents. The drivers’dangerous driving behavior is common, which become one of the key factors to the urban traffic problems and accidents. A lot of research shows that there are many reasons that cause dangerous driving behavior. Based on individual characteristics, from the perspective of behavioral management, psychology and other disciplines, this paper explores the dynamic reasons of dangerous driving behavior and constructs the relationship model between dangerous driving behavior and influencing factors, which can reduce and prevent traffic accidents and provide decision-making basis to strengthen the urban traffic management. This paper introduces the connotation of dangerous driving behavior. Through the literature review, the research status of various types of improper driving behavior are classified and sorted. The key influencing factors and the relationship between dangerous driving behavior and its influencing factors have been defined and analyzed from the perspective of individual characteristics. Then this paper establishes the dangerous driving behavior model, creates the dangerous driving behavior scale, dangerous driving attitude scale, driving experience and skills scale, personality trait scale, risk perception scale and the demographic variables scale. Based on the above, this paper collects data from field surveys and uses questionnaires to make empirical analysis on the dangerous driving behavior and its influencing factors. Research methods such as factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, structural equation modeling and so forth have been used to verify the hypothesis and modify the drivers’dangerous driving behavior model and related scales.Research results show that dangerous driving attitude and driving experience and skills have significant effect on dangerous driving behavior. The relationship between risk perception and dangerous driving behavior is regulated by some contextual factors, like social norms, role model and so on. Driving experience and skills, personality traits and dangerous driving attitude have significant effect on drivers’ risk perception.
