A Study On The Relationship Between Driving Suitability And Risk Driving Behavior

Statistics of a large number of road traffic accidents both home and abroad show that, human factors are mainly responsible for more than 95% of the accidents, therefore, people are the main factors in traffic accidents. Theory of accident tendency and driving suitability show that there are some drivers who are more likely to have traffic accidents than others. Therefore, it has great significance for the distinguishing of the driver, retraining of driver, improving the quality of the driver, and reducing the road traffic accidents.Based on driving suitability testing system and driving simulation system platform KMRTDS, this topic had studied the driving suitability in static conditions and the risk driving behaviors of 62 drivers. Firstly, summarized the deficiency of previous theories of driving suitability, proposed the concept of dynamic driving suitability. On the basis of previous research, determined the quantitative criteria of risk perception of drivers in dynamic risk situations and criteria for the assessment of dynamic driving suitability. Secondly, the driving suitability test system was used to test the six indexes of object drivers. Meanwhile, designed the deriving simulation experiment to carry out the risk perception test for the objects. Thirdly, according to the six recommended standards, the driver’s driving suitability level is classified, and the driver’s risk perception utility values were obtained. Based on the driver’s risk perception utility value, the dynamic suitability was evaluated and the drivers were divided into four categories according to the risk preference;Finally, based on the statistical analysis method, analyzed the differences of the overall static driving suitability and the relationship between the static driving suitability and dynamic driving suitability. The results show that there is no significant difference in the overall driving suitability of drivers in different age, gender and driving experience; there is no significant difference in the level of comprehensive driving suitability of drivers in different risk preference under the static conditions; the driver’s static driving suitability is not significantly related to the dynamic driving suitability. Static suitability is not related to the characteristics of driving behavior, the regularity between them is not strong, the suitability of static driving cannot fully reflect the driver’s driving ability in the actual driving process.This study is mainly based on the driving suitability, proposed a concept of dynamic driving suitability based on risk driving situation. Studied the relationship between static driving suitability and dynamic driving suitability, and also studied the relationship between driving suitability which is under the static condition and risk driving behavior. The results of the study have important significance for improving the discrimination ability of driving suitability, and are also helpful to promote the further development of theories of driving suitability.
