With the vigorous development of the tire industry, the domestic market demand for tire balancing machine is also increasing. And the quality of the tire largely depends on its test performance. As the core of the tire balancing test equipment, test station is the key to the test accuracy of the equipment. So it has an important significance that researching the measuring principle of the tire balancing machine and optimizing the design, in order to improve the measurement accuracy of tire balancing machine.Today, domestic researches on measurement technology of tire balancing are more focused on signal processing and algorithms, to improve the balancing measurement accuracy by means of noise reduction and compensation processing. However, the unideal plane separation、static-even separation of tire balancing machine and stability under long-term use in the production are all closely to the structure of the test station. These are all difficult to compensate by algorithms and signal processing. So, in order to improve the precision and stability, this paper mainly focuses on the structure of the test system, include of vibration system and drive system.With the purpose of improving the precision and stability, based on the study of the measuring principle of traditional vertical tire balancing machine, this paper mainly does the following work. Firstly, in order to obtain the calculation method of unbalance, the mechanical model of "rims—tires—test spindle system" is constructed. After that, through establishing the vibration model, the paper finished kinematic analysis in order to get the reason of unideal performance of plane separation and static-even separation of this kind of tire balancing machine. Based of it, a new type of sided vertical balancing machine vibrational structure is proposed and designed. The mechanical model and ANSYS simulation are needed to describe the vibration of this system and the solving method of the two correction plane in detail. As another important part, the drive system also greatly affects the measurement accuracy of tire balancing machines. In this paper, based on analysis of traditional drive modes, we pay more attention to the most used drive mode—belt-driven mode. To avoid the influence of belt tension and lateral vibration to test accuracy, we designed an unloading belt pulley drive structure. This structure is combined with high-performance and low-cost. At the last of this paper, we studied the calibration algorithm of balancing test. The new method has a good deal with types of deviation to keep the measurement accuracy.Based on the production practice, the research about tire balancing testing technology and design optimization have a good theoretical significance and practical application value.
