Transmission line insulation flashover established frequency arc is the direct cause of tripout, where in the proportion of flashover caused by lightning strike is large, especially in the Southern China thunderbolt areas. Tripout of transmission line threat the security and stability of power system operation severely, and brought great negative impact on the industry to the national economy and people’s lives. In order to reduce the accident rate by lightning strike, researchers of power system carried out a detailed study and put forward a series of effective preventive measures, achieved some sesults. Traditional measures of lightning protection has a lot of defects.the effect is not ideal. With the rapid development of the economy, the trend of increasing pollution in many parts of the country appears, filthy conditions transmission line insulator severe compared with the past. Therefore, power frequency voltage insulator flash filthy promise has become another major factor in the power system transmission line tripout.The research group based on lines from lightning trip and possible contamination insulator flashover voltage frequency grim situation.
