As a new type of surface structure, reticulated shell structures are widely used in our lives because of a series of advantages, such as big span, good stiffness, convenient installation and so on.Based on the development and application of surface function in reticulated domes, a new structure forms of reticulated shell was proposed in this paper: the single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shell s which were rotated with its axis of symmetry in half sine wave for bus. The reticulated shell model was set up by the finite element software of ANSYS, and then a detailed analysis of the static and stability was made.Firstly, the static performance of single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shells was analyzed and compared with four different partition forms of sine curve, and a reasonable partition forms of sine curve was determined. Then the static performance of reticulated shells was analyzed, including the distribution of internal force, deformation law, end reaction and the steel quantity under the unit area, and further making a comparison with spherical reticulated shell s.On the basis of the understanding of reticulated shells’ static performance, on the premise of only considering the geometric nonlinearity of reticulated shells, the buckling modes of structure were studied, and a series of parameters were carried out, including the effects of span, rise-span ratio, initial geometric imperfection, unsymmetrical distribution of loads, ways of selecting knot and the hoop division frequency on the ultimate loads of single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shells. Then, considering both the distribution of internal force and the buckling modes of single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shells, two kinds of curve optimization schemes were carried out to improve the ultimate loads of reticulated shells: the optimization of the partition ratio of sine curve and the curvature of sinusoidal surface. Then a large number of data were calculated and analyzed, and the reasonable variation range of partition ratio of sine curve and curvature of sinusoidal surface were determined, and finally the fitting formula for the limit loads of single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shells was provided considering all the influence factors of the stability of reticulated shell. Finally, local reinforcement design was carried out on the secondary outer ring which was the weak area of the single-layer sinusoidal surface reticulated shells, then the partial double layer reticulated shells were built, and further analyses were proceeded, including the buckling mode of partial double layer reticulated shell s, the arrangement forms of members which were part of partial double layer structure, and the effects of thickness of partial double layer on ultimate loads of reticulated shells.
