With the development of Electric Power system which keep the high pressure,long-distance,high-capacity direction,it not only improves the economy of system running,but also make the problem of Electric Power system in security and reliability become more apparent.Digital protection system belongs to mainly the second part of Electric Power system,reliability analysis is not completely characterize the reliability of Power system for such complex systems.Considering the element level further,it introduces the analysis of the importance of components into the protection system.Electric Power System Reliability is related to every element which is in the system and the structure of system, the importance of components can reflect it very well.Importance of components is a indicator which can be quantifiable,therefore the indicator which is used to evaluate Electric Power System Reliability is convenient and accurate.Owing to Electric Power system has large-scale and every structure which makes up Electric Power system is complex,the specific system can be divided into several subsystems when we analysis it and research the reliability of each subsystem separately.By describing the concept of the system reliability in the Electric Power system systematically,it introduces three quota of reliability,describes four evaluation method which assess the Electric Power system reliability and select the most suitable means called method of block diagram about Reliability for the analysis.Electric Power System Reliability can be analyzed from the perspective of the importance of components.By Clarifying the concept of parameters of Component reliability and the formula of importance of components,it puts forward the calculation method of Electric Power System Reliability and analyzes the reliability of the examples.According to the characteristics of digital protection system,it analyzes the specific structure of the digital protection system,and build an analytic model of the digital protection system about the importance of components.It puts forward evaluation principles of reliability about digital protection system by the method of importance of components.Among them,probability importance is used for finding the weakness in the system,in order to guide and optimize the design of system;key importance is used for the guidance of maintaining the system.
