Study On The Construction Of Interior Design Theoretical Framework Based On The Functional Concepts

In the peaceful time, with the ever-lasting growth of population and better living standard, people attaches more importance to the living quality. The indoor environment is close to daily life therefore its design is very important. As the western academy categorizes it as a branch of architecture instead of an independent discipline and with merely some relevant researches, the interior design lacks professional guidance theoretical system. Although China has set up the disciplines of interior design, the history of it is short and insufficient of complete theory system on that. Furthermore, interior design is categorized as a branch of art, so the research on it is focused on art perspective instead of functional concepts which becomes a historical problem. It is a pressing task to analyze theory of interior design from rationality and science. This paper analyzes and discusses interior design from the perspective of functional concepts and constructs interior design theoretical framework on the basis of functional concepts through the Scientific methods, such as literature reading, questionnaire survey, cross disciplinary research, etc. This paper lays emphasis on analyzing the condition and problems of present interior design framework and discusses the basic functions of the functional concepts on theory of interior design. Finally it conducts research on system framework of interior design on the functional concepts. The theoretical framework mainly includes the overview of functional interior design, the interior functional carrier design, the function design of interior perceptual system, the interior mental function design and the function optimal design, the theoretical framework contains the complete content of interior design and has practical guiding significance.
