Research On Planning Of Outdoor Space For Retirement Community Based On Investigation Of Needs Of The Old People

As the deepening of the aging problem in China, the housing problem also becomes severer with the changes of the modes of supporting aging people. Community nursing service is a mode which concerns both of family and society is widely recognized by the society. And as one of the important factors which can improve the life quality of aging people, the outdoor space is being concerned by more and more people. This paper will study the planning of outdoor space on the basis of the requirement of aging people. It will also find the detailed principles and methods for the old-age community mode in order to avoid the unsafety, lack of environmental landscape and the lack of consideration of barrier-free facilities.This paper will go to the development tendency of the aging problem in China and the world firstly. Then it will analyze the changes in the modes of supporting aging people, and the strong demand of the old people to improve the outdoor space of living environment as well. Through case study and the summary, the paper will compare the development and practice of outdoor space of retirement community at home and abroad. Then, I will investigate the characters and self-demands of aging people on the basis of relevant theories of the old’s demands, planning design and questionnaire survey. And I will put forward the planning principles of outdoor space which should meet the requirement of old people’s demand in physiology, psychology and acts. After that, the paper will take the Zhuoda Old-age Community as the example to address the practical strategies in planning of roadway system, activity space, landscape and oddments. Finally, it will conclude in the application method in the practice of the outdoor space planning for retirement community being based on the demand of old people.This paper proposes a planning method of outdoor space which is more systematic and practical with more concerns of demand to let the planning more reasonable and accurate. Also, the paper raises the planning design methods and strategies which meet the aging people’s requirements in various aspects in order to solve the actual demands of outdoor space and create the safe and comfortable environment for the retirement community.
