In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economic, C hina’s automobile industry technology and road transport continues to progress, traffic and road conditions improved significantly, cargo transport and passenger traffic continues to increase, which makes the car in operational efficiency, safety, comfort and environmental protection and other aspects of performance to meet the requirements of the people, which is the most important safety performance. Especially in the mountain roads and long slope and other harsh conditions due to continuous braking performance degradation caused by vehicle braking systems and brake wear, accident prone, retarder, or other auxiliary braking device must be installed. At present, domestic car retarder, according to the different works can be divided into the following categories: exhaust brake retarder, engine retarder, eddy current retarder, hydraulic retarder and self-excited retarder and permanent magnet retarder. A mong them, the eddy current retarder is currently the most widely used an auxiliary braking device, but due to air-cooling, the cooling effect is not obvious, severe heat recession. The self-excited retarder with energy saving, environmental protection, and other outstanding performance and efficient auxiliary braking system, has a very broad research and application prospects. Based on the existing retarder presents a new liquid-cooled self- excited retarder, and the new type retarder conducted in the following sections of the study and description:The first chapter describes the mechanical structure and working principle of the present automobile auxiliary brake device, the development status both at home and abroad.The second chapter describes the mechanical structure, the control mode the control program of the new self-excited liquid-cooled retarder. Analysis of the working principle of the new liquid-cooled self-excited retarder and four other self-excited retarder, discusses the new self-excited retarder liquid cooling energy saving, environmental protection, safety, comfort, and economic characteristics.The third chapter sets out the basic theory of electromagnetic field of the new liquid-cooled self-excited retarder, based on the existing model of the retarder is analyzed for its magnetic circuit modeling and eddy current field. Use JMAG and Maxwell electromagnetic field simulation software for numerical simulation model was obtained retarder magnetic circuit characteristics, eddy current distribution, and research material conductivity, magnetic saturation excitation current size and the extent of retarder braking torque impact.The forth chapter, the establishment of a three-dimensional finite element model of the new self- excited liquid-cooled retarder, in-depth analysis of its magnetic flux leakage. By retarder sample space design parameters, the use of support vector machines for leakage coefficient salient retarder nonlinear regression modeling analysis, algorithm retarder doubly salient structure parameters and optimization based on chaos theory and particle swarm optimized.The fifth chapter introduces a kind of double claw-pole structure generator for self-excited retarder. Based on the JMAG software, simulation of the generator no- load and load of the air gap magnetic field, the influence of armature reaction on the air gap magnetic field. Through the optimization analysis and correlation structure of the claw-pole alternator magnetic leakage, draw the no- load motor structure parameters and magnetic flux leakage coefficient curve, obtained the conclusion provides theoretical reference for the further research and optimization of this kind of motor. Finally, the no-load characteristics and regulation characteristics were given, could meet the required excitation power for self-excited retarder.Finally, the new liquid-cooled self-excited retarder for the overall design, including Salient Generator design and doubly salient retarder design.This paper presents a new type of novel self-excited retarder is a liquid-cooled with independent intellectual property rights, and eddy current retarder compared to safer; high reliability, maintenance-free; retarder and generator excitation coil coils are wound with independent coil centralized and stationary components are realized brushless simplifies coil winding, installation and control.
