Now the domestic road design is still primarily rely on traditional CAD technology,using flat line road, longitudinal and cross-sectional design to provide three-dimensional location data for road design.Although this approach enables designers to quickly grasp the key indicators of the highway route, but can not grasp the situation of a specific road,unable to coordinate the relationship between visual assessment of roads and the surrounding environment, but also unable to facilities and security situation on the road friendly accurate assessment. Such traditional design no longer meet such a rapid road construction. Today, the rapid development of computer graphics, virtual reality technology in the design and construction of roads. It has been becoming more and more mature. The three-dimensional form has been increasingly recognized and applied,therefore, to study how more the road to good real-time three-dimensional visualization technology to the design and construction of roads in the past, has now become a research focus, but also it is the future direction of development in this field.This paper first describes the visualization highway-related theories, including digital terrain elevation model(DEM), TIN construction, road design fusion theory and the theory of triangulation and other specifications. On this basis, it summarize the key technical problems encountered in the visual system to study and give concrete solutions implementations. Finally, a detailed description of the detailed design, implementation of the system, overall framework and the main module is given.Visualization System Firstly aerial survey data to generate terrain terrain model of the area around the road, because of the terrain relatively large amount of data, terrain data using a hierarchical, block storage management methods. Then use CARD\1 road design data to construct three-dimensional model of the road. After comparison and summary,using constrained Delaunay triangulation principle, integrate road model and terrain model.On this basis, build simple structures and road safety model and landscape models. When the frame of the model is built, we can achieve the three-dimensional road model visualization through a suitable texture image rendering on the model.According actual highway construction projects, systematically verify the highway dimensional real-time visualization system that implements building the DEM, road model,both seamless and the entire three-dimensional scene. The apply of three-dimensional visualization system grasp the highway design quality and reasonable more accurately. Theproject illustrate the feasibility and advancement of this three-dimensional visual design system.
