With the requirement of simulation visualization for satellite formation flying, based on SiPESC platform, this paper designed and implemented a visualization system SiPESC.SatFly, which use the technologies of Ogre (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine), Qt graphics user interface library and XML extensible markup language. SiPESC.SatFly provides user powerful tools to demonstrate the flying state of satellite formation, and to establish the formation scene with the Ogre model data, which is exported by modeling tools such as 3DS Max, and with Xml configuration files. With the help of SiPESC.SatFly, users can analysis the data, understand and form the flying concept in an easy way. At the same time, the system has a good expansibility. SiPESC.SatFly can be extended to create another kind of visualization system with minor extra work. The paper presents the design philosophy, software framework and key software technologies. SiPESC.SatFly is applied to the Near-Earth orbit satellite formation flying and the satellite orbital transfer. These applications validate the good reality of the system.
