As one of the main types of Green-Vehicle, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle(PHEV) has both advantages of Electric Vehicle(EV) and traditional vehicle. For the PHEV equipped with Automated Mechanical Transmission(AMT), the shift strategy of AMT has important significance of improving the performance of the vehicle.Firstly, the design method of traditional AMT shift strategy is introduced by this paper, and according to the reference of traditional two-parameter shift strategy, the best dynamic property shift strategy and the best economy shift strategy are also developed for the research vehicles in this paper, which is prepared for completing the AMT shift strategy of PHEV. Secondly, the structure of PHEV and performance of parts are analyzed to develop the model of simulation in this paper.The speed of the vehicle, throttle of engine and motor are selected as the control parameters to establish the three-parameter shift strategy. According to the characteristics of PHEV, the motor’s influence on the shifting process is additionally considered in this paper. If the acceleration of two adjacent gears are equal, then vehicle dynamic property is the best. According to this theory, the best dynamic shift strategy is developed. The best economy shift strategy is developed when the vehicle is started by static and continues to accelerate to a specified speed and the energy consumed in the process is the lowest. In the process of calculation, electricity is converted into fuel consumption.Through the model of simulation and real vehicle road test, the rationality of AMT shift strategy is verified in this paper. By simulation of driving cycles and comparison of two-parameter shift strategy, the advantages of three-parameter shift strategy are explained, and the differences of the two strategies are discussed. The test results are compared with the simulation results to illustrate the improvement of dynamic property and the economy property, and the reasonable and practical strategies of gear shift are indicated.
