Railway train timetable is the comprehensive plan in railway transport, and also,is the representation of transport products, especially in High Speed Railway,the product property of the train timetable has been becoming stronger. Train scheduling problem has the characteristic of strong constraints and combinatorial optimization.The paper is focused on the research of the model and algorithm of railway train timetable, which includes:Firstly, the paper analysis’ s the basic theory, method of train scheduling problem and explain the representation a, the classification, elements of train diagram.Secondly, the paper analysis’ s the method of drawing train line, points displacement of the train starting from the originating station, points displacement of the train starting from the intermediate station and the type of train paths conflict and its resolving methods.Thirdly, the paper analysis’ s the model and optimization algorithm of the train scheduling problem. With the goal of minimizing the total traveled time of all the trains,a regulation optimization model on the passenger line was set up.And, the optimization algorithm based on genetic algorithm is designed.Fourthly, an instance based on the background of Beijing-Shanghai passenger special line is constructed, and the genetic algorithm to the train regulation problem is programmed in MyEclipse10 simulation environment. Finally, the example is solved with GA, and the simulation results are analyzed, the results prove the feasibility of the model and algorithm.
