With the increasing number of tailings dam and its height,for our country which is in earthquake-prone areas,there is an urgent need to study the stability of tailings dam further.Not only the dam-break of tailings dam caused by the seismic makes much impact of the environment but also causes a great threat to the downstream people’s life and property.This dissertation takes the tailing dam in hebei as the project background, the experimental study on the physical properties and the static and dynamic tests of the silty sand of the tailing are mainly researched. The main research work of this dissertation is as follow:(1)The basic physical properties and grading curve are investigated by physical experiments on the Selected tailings material.And the permeability and strength properties are studied by permeability test and triaxial shear experiments.(2)Through the cyclic triaxial apparatus controlled by microcomputer,consolidated undrained triaxial dynamic experiments on saturated tailings are conducted.The dynamic strength,dynamic deformation,dynamic modulus,damping ratio of the tailings subjected dynamic load are studied.The dynamic strength and dynamic parameters of the material under different conditions are determined and some affecting factors such as relative density,consolidation ratio and confining pressure are discussed.(3)In the analysis of the test results of the dynamic characteristics of tailings materials,the developing and changing model of the dynamic pore water pressure of saturated tailing sand under the dynamic load is mainly studied.On the basis of some classical models, the dynamic pore pressure stress model of the material is put forward by analyzing and fitting the experimental data.The general model of different consolidation ratio is obtained by using the dynamic pore pressure growth model with different consolidation ratio.Laid a foundation for more accurate prediction on production and development of the dynamic pore pressure.(4)The numerical calculation of the tailings dam is carried out according to the experimental results and the engineering example.The acceleration response of the tailing dam in the main section is studied.And the distribution of liquefied area is studied by the calculation and analysis.
