Shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete is a new type of lateral load resistingmember.It is with high bearing capacity, good ductility, and high stiffness. By far, experimental studies on its axial compression performance, axial tension performance, bending performance, shearing performance, seismic performance and tube bending performance have been conducted. In order to facilitate the application in practical engineering, this paper summarizes the existing researches, and sums up the design methods of shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete. Meanwhile, taking into account the importance and the complex stress situation of shear wall in tall buildings, this paper conducted studies on the out-of-plane stability of shear wall, the bending capacity of T-section shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete, and compared the normal section with steel plate reinforced concrete shear wall to analyze the practicality of shear wall with steel tube-confined concrete. The main research work and results are outlined as follow:1) Summarizing the existing researches on axial compression performance, axial tension performance, bending performance, shearing performance of shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete.2) Seven sets of models have been established to study the effect of the ratio of highness to thickness, initial eccentricity and wall thickness on the out-of-plane stability. And the comparison of the out-of-plane stability with different cross section has been made. The results show that shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete has good out-of-plane stability.3) Two sets of T-section steel tube concrete shear wall models with shear span ratio 2,1.1respectively,have been established to simulate the horizontal loading process. Also a large shear span ratio T-section shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete has been established.The failure mode, the load displacement curve, and the stress situations of each part are analyzed.4) To analyze key performances of the shear wall with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete in the bending process, such as the failure modes, the load-displacement curve, the stiffness, the deformation and bearing capacity, five setsnormal section model with similar steel ratio and different section(including three sets with steel tube-confined high-strength concrete, one set with steel plate, one set with steel reinforced) have established.
