Study Of Urban Planning Case Library Based On Knowledge Management (KM)

Although urban planning is a practice guide subject, but it’s difficult to get excellent cases with complete types, rich quantity, high quality and reference for relevant case studies and experience growing during the planning compilation and studying. The target of the research is the urban planning case library based on KM, its construction and meaning.The research includes mainly the following four aspects: 1) Study of the applicability and the method of case study based on KM. 2) Building the structure of the urban planning case library and coding system. By reference to statutory, practical and other case library’s classification to build the structure of the case library, and based on which the coding system would be built to give a specific code number to each case. 3) Developing standard form of urban planning case and writing standard case. The standard form suited for urban planning field references business administration with the target of reproducing the dilemma of planning and provoking readers to ponder. Standard case would take the strategic planning of Ming Dynastic City of Qufu as sample, simple ones of other kinds of urban planning would also be gave. 4) Urban planning case library uses web model to carry out all functions.The most outstanding features of this study are interdisciplinary and practical. The research applies the knowledge of urban planning, business management, library science and computer programming to build the whole structure of the urban planning case library.Urban planning case library introduces case study method to urban planning field of China, which can be applied to the preparation, management and education fields, and accelerate the speed of knowledge dissemination.
