Abundant hydropower resources in China, but very unequal, time and space distribution of water resources well, high head, this kind of development condition at present was has been basically finished development, the development, the development of low head hydraulic resource extremely significance and value. Our province belongs to the hills, plains, rivers have big runoff, sediment concentration, less long flood season, and the characteristics of small river flow changes. Appropriate design model selection of water turbine for the rational use of water resources is particularly important. According to the guangdong power station of bulb tubular turbine type design, coupled with some domestic and foreign, hydraulic turbine type design, learn the methods and experience, for low head of bulb tubular turbine type selection design method of optimization is proposed.This paper through the low head runoff hydropower station at home and abroad in terms of hydraulic turbine type design, material, summarized the most commonly used low head radial power station of bulb tubular turbine type selection design method, this paper introduces the new method, the difference between a old way often cause errors, and the new method of type selection design points.
