In recent years, the powertrain of tracked armored vehicle is connected with deck through suspension elements and its isolation effect has been greatly improved,compared with the traditional connecting way where the powertrain was rigidly connected with the deck. But the vibration is still very serious because of the adverse work environment and thin deck. It not only has a negative impact on health and the vehicle driver efficiency but also it is easy to damage the parts. Rational design of powertrain mounting system can reduce the vibrational excitation of vehicle which caused by powertrain significantly and improve ride comfort. The powertrain mounting system is a complex multi-freedom vibration system, which depends on the centroid of powertrain, inertia matrix, direction and point of exciting forces, suspension stiffness characteristics and so on.In this paper, it takes powertrain mounting of a tracked vehicle as the object of research based on vibration theory and several forms of powertrain vibration isolation system are designed for the vehicle. Then a six-freedom vibration mechanical model of the powertrain mounting system of the vehicle is established to calculate out the natural frequency, principal mode, energy distribution matrix and transmitting force of the mount with MATLAB. Take decoupling and mount counter forces of powertrain-mounting systems as the optimization goals, restrict the natural frequency range and the limit of stiffness parameters, and optimize the design of mounting stiffness parameters and mounting positions through genetic algorithm.Ultimately, reasonable suspension stiffness and the installation position of rubber buffer are designed to improve the decoupling of powertrain system and reduce the mount’s transmitting forces. And an optimization software of a mounting system is developed to have an access of optimizing different forms of powertrain mounting system.
