Buried pipeline detection technology develop rapidly, born out many theory and techniques against pipeline coating damage, tube itself and tube stress, and are all effective. Due to the growth number of buried pipelines, result in complex underground pipe network, increase the difficulty of detection of buried pipeline. Stolen valve, cross the pipeline, and the casing pipe are often the case in the pipe detection. It will bring a large degree of interference detection result, and has a great challenge to the quantitative of detection. However, there is little technical explanation for such systematic engineering problems. In this paper, come up with buried pipeline trenchless detection based on Transient Electromagnetic Method. It not only can detect buried pipeline corrosion problems, but also can identify and differentiate stolen valve, cross the pipeline, and the casing pipe.First of all, this paper discusses the principle of Transient Electromagnetic Method, and detail analysis the method on buried pipeline. It describes the common excitation and detecting device of transient electromagnetic method. And calculate stolen valve, cross the pipeline, the casing pipe’s signal response range through the ’’smoke ring’’ effect. Secondly, analysis buried pipeline trenchless detection system and several important parameters of the system used herein. Get the best value of damping resistor through integrate theory with practice. Do research on the selection of sensor. Determine the parameters of the sensor under engineering environment. Analyze the effect of ferrite on sensor through experiment. Write software about buried pipe wall thickness inversion and demonstrated the reliability of the software through experiments. Thirdly, for common scenarios on engineering test, simulated field environment, the system respect stable signal on stolen valve, cross the pipeline, and the casing pipe. These signals are easy to identify and distinguish. At the same time, get valve preferred coil sensor size of detect stolen through experiments. Last, through on-site practical engineering detect case, further verified it is a systematically trenchless detection technology on buried pipeline.
