Urban heating pipeline operates under urban road which is densely populated andenvironmental complex. The risk of safety accident rises year by year, because of thepipeline corrodes inside and outside during the extension of operating time. Improvingthe safety factor of urban heating pipeline in the operation is an important subject in thefield of city heating. At present, the urban heating pipeline corrosion and leak pointdetection technology are not mature and have less specific instruments. The transientelectromagnetic method (TEM) is used for urban heating pipeline trenchless detection.These methods improve the detection efficiency and accuracy, and reduce the test cost.Firstly, the urban heating pipeline testing environment and failure reasons isstudied. And then the observation signal and the testing response process are analyzedon the basis of the principle of TEM. The feasibility of the parallel heating pipelines’trenchless detection is proved. The mathematical model is established based on thenormalized induced electromotive force and the relationship of pipe wall thickness.Secondly, the detection device with the feature of adjustable detection depth isdesigned by analyzing the principle of the conventional TEM detection device, sliderheostat and detection limits depth of the TEM detection device.Thirdly, the urban heating pipeline trenchless detection technology is proved to becorrect, through three progressive relationship test of feasibility validation test ofparallel double pipeline, adjustable detection depth detection advice authentication testof parallel double pipeline and actual engineering environment simulation test ofparallel double pipeline.The result shows that comprehensive error is below5%without interference pipeline, and is able to identify corrosion part with interferencepipeline.Finally, the data analysis software of the urban heating pipeline trenchlessdetection system is developed, which is applied to practical engineering tests with theurban heating pipeline trenchless detection instrument. The experimental conclusionsare finally verified through the means of the excavation. The research provides a newdetection means for inspection and maintenance of urban heating pipeline, and it is animportant significance for the extension of TEM.
