Mono symmetrical castellated beam realizes the combination of castellated beams and mono symmetrical beam, with both advantages just like beautiful shape and good mechanical properties. If it was used in the practical engineering, it will produce great economic benefit. Now, there are lack of relatively studies of mono symmetrical castellated beam, limiting the application of mono symmetrical castellated beam. Therefore, this paper selects the subject on overall stability of mono symmetrical castellated beam, and studying its elastic stability theory, the flange uniaxial rate and the overall stability of the simplified design formulas. The contents are as follows:(1)This paper introduced the modeling with finite element software ANSYS systematically, then the finite element model is verified. The results showed that the finite element model is more accurate, and can be used for research on stability theory of mono symmetrical castellated beam.(2) Due to the calculation of mono symmetrical castellated beam is complex, so, this paper will transform mono symmetrical section into symmetrical section, then energy method is applied on the overall stability of mono symmetrical castellated beam basing on the symmetric section. Finaly, the finite element model was used for validation and correction of elastic stability theory.(3) It is found that the flange uniaxial rate has a greater influence on the mechanical property of mono symmetrical castellated, so flange uniaxial rate was studied systematically. The results showed that with the increase of flange uniaxial rate, failure of components will turn from the stable to strength, bearing capacity also increases firstly and then decreases.(4) Calculation formula of stability bearing capacity were studied for the mono symmetrical castellated beam with the flange uniaxial rate value of 0.6, taking into account the effect of D/H and S/H. The simplified calculation formula of stability was obtained by revising the formula of single axisymmetric solid web beam, the formula precision can be used as a reference in engineering design.
