With the increasing fierce of the market competition, the traditional industry of machinery manufacturing is facing more and more challenges. The demand of the customer is becoming more and more complex, and the types of products of the enterprises are increasing, but the number of products in a single batch of orders is reduced. So the production activities should not only to meet the needs of customers, but also should be adjusted according to the actual processing capacity of the enterprise production workshop and the inventory of workshop and the change of production schedule in time. Through the production scheduling, the production tasks can be arranged reasonably, and resources of enterprise can be used effectively, so it could provide the basis for the implementation and adjustment of the plan.Based on the research foundation of Shandong engineering machinery hydraulic pipe fittings manufacturing enterprise, designing and researching the production scheduling system which is in line with the production characteristics of the enterprise, which can improve the information construction and production management level of the enterprise and enhance the competitiveness of enterprise.At first, according to the characteristics of workshop production, analyzing the current situation of enterprise production scheduling and making clear the demand of production scheduling, so hierarchy framework and business process of the production scheduling can be designed. Then according the business process and the demand of the enterprise, designing the module function of production scheduling system, which including the design of interface and input/output. Based on the module function the database of the system is designed, which including the data flow chart, data dictionary, relational model, ER diagram and database base table. After this, the mathematical model of production scheduling is set up to transform the scheduling problem into a mathematical problem. Then genetic algorithm is used to solve the mathematical model and some actual statistics are used to verify the mathematical model and algorithm. Last, the production scheduling system is developed and the mathematical model and algorithm are integrated into the system by using the Delphi7 and SQL Server 2000 and the system is completed by programming.The production scheduling system which is designed could adapt to the characteristics of production for the enterprise and meet the needs of job shop scheduling and be able to achieve the good scheduling results. It can believe that the system will significantly improve the level of information and competitiveness of the enterprise.
