The vehicle stabilizer bar is an important part of independent suspension system,Combined with the company’s technology development project, this paper analyzed the static and dynamic characteristics of the vehicle stabilizer bar by means of CAE. By doing lightweight design of the stabilizer bar, the research of stabilizer rubber bushing has also been done at the same time. The main contents of this paper are as follows:According to boundary conditions and structural features of the stabilizer bar,theoretical calculation method and finite element method was carried out to analyze stabilizer bar’s strength and rigidity. The finite element model is established by ANSYS,then based on research of weight-reducing ratio and outside diameter increasing ratio,lightweight design of the stabilizer bar is done and its strength and rigidity has also been verified. In order to solve the problem of excessive stress of stabilizer bending area,this paper improved the stabilizer bar structure, and designed variable cross-section transverse stabilizer bar.The strength and rigidity experiment is carried out by the strain measurement system of “DH3815N”.The test results are compared with the finite element analysis results,and they are in a good agreement with each other,which verify the accuracy if the finite element model and methods.According to the rubber bushing’s influence on the kinematics performance of stabilizer bar,this research is done to improve the structure and material of the rubber bushing. Based on the nonlinear characteristics of the material, Hyper Mesh is adopted to establish the finite element model of the stabilizer bar with a rubber bushing. Using the nonlinear analysis software ABAQUS to analyse strength and rigidity of three rubber bushing with different hardness rubber bushing of hollow stabilizer bar. Based on related theory of fatigue life prediction, The article used ANSYS n Code Design Life to do for analysis for hollow stabilizer bar with rubber bushing. The study of this paper lays a foundation for the improving of structure and light-weight design of the stabilizer bar, and supplies referenced research methods and practical experience for the rubber bushing non-linear research.
