As an important component of city infrastructure, public transport is the main way of urban travel. To development public transport not only can ease urban transport congestion problem, but also can improve the city living environment. It is the inevitable request to promote the city sustainable development. And it is an important means to improve traffic resource use efficiency, alleviate traffic congestion, and reduce traffic pollution and conservation land resources. In the context of the current national drive to develop public transport, to build a harmonious and efficient high-quality public transport system, is of great significance for urban development.As a typical, open, complex huge system, the city bus system has complex operation rules and internal structure. Complex network methods developed in recent years, provides a new perspective and a new method for us to study complex systems from a macro, holistic perspective. In this paper, we using the basic theory and method of complex network, to analyzed topological structure of city bus. And using Nanjing bus network as an example, expounds the theory of complex network for the analysis of city bus network structure is very useful. And the analysis results can be a foundation for future studies of Nanjing city bus network. The main work of this paper mainly in the following aspects:Firstly, based on the introduction of complex networks, include basic concepts, basic theory, evolution of the model and the main parameters. Considering the characteristics of urban public transport network, we analysis the complexity of the city bus from qualitative and quantitative. And we also given an abstract modeling method of the city bus. Then, using Nanjing bus as an example, we built city bus station transfer network model and network model. And using Gephi network analysis software, we statistical analysis of distribution of each index site network and transfer network value respectively, then we analysis the two models of network scale-free and small-world characteristics. Lastly, to the network efficiency as indexes, we given an application direction of complex network, the layout of hub nodes of the network planning. We also using Nanjing network as an example, the results shows that this approach has a high degree of recognition of network hub, and also provides a new idea for testing the network hub node layout and construction schedule.
