The spherical plain bearings have the advantages of automatic self-aligning、strong carrying capacity and long service life, so it widely used in engineering machinery, aerospace and other fields. The life testers for spherical plain bearings play an important role in research and development of its service life、reliability and the research on its friction and wear. The fuselage of the life testers for spherical plain bearings is supporting the whole loading force, so the fuselage has a great influence on the tester’s work. In this paper, I’ll use the modern design and simulation analysis method to analyze and optimize the fuselage, and simulation studies on the tester’s dynamic performance and the loss of load vibration, these studies have an important meaning for the tester fulfilling its all sorts of functions.First of all, I analyze the fuselage, the stress analysis, stiffness calculation and strength check are also carried out. Illustrate the necessity of the fuselage from the effects of the fuselage’s vibration and deformation.Secondly, the finite element analysis is carried out for the fuselage, and I get the fuselage’s deformation and stress distribution under full load. At the same time I calculate the original fuselage’s angle deformation and angle stiffness. The results show that the testing machine body is in a safe state, but the redundancy is large, analysis results provide a reference basis for structure optimization.Thirdly, in the study of the dynamic characteristics of the life testers for spherical plain bearings for the target, on one hand, the mode analysis is carried out on the machine body, and get the natural vibration frequencies and corresponding vibration mode, analysis of the influence of each mode to the tester’s work; on the other hand, for the testing machine caused by experimental fixture suddenly rupture and loss of load causing the vibration of the machine are analyzed. We find two major factors that can alleviate the tester’s vibration. Vibration isolation measures and built-in tank design are given for the dynamic analysis result.Finally, for the purpose of decreasing the weight of the fuselage, the fuselage of tester is parameterized modeling and optimization designed. In this paper, I’ll use two optimization methods which are dimension optimization and shape optimization to seek the ideal of the fuselage structure, and compare the results obtained by the two methods of optimization.
