Self-lubricating spherical plain bearing is a kind of spherical plain bearing without addinglubricant, which has a wide range of applications in helicopter and aircraft because of thecharacteristics of simple structure, small size, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, long servicetime, etc. With the growing demand of high quality bearings in aerospace industry and constructionmachinery, the property request of the bearing is more and more highly. Therefore, simulationanalysis of the bearing and research on liner material tribological properties has significantengineering significance.In this paper, research on the press assembly technology and loading conditions of spherical plainbearing as well as the tribological properties of the liner material by taking self-lubricating sphericalplain bearing. The research content of the essay is as follows.The installation process on the spherical plain bearing with different materials, clearance andfriction coefficient is analyzed with simulation to discuss about the force history of press-fit by finiteelement analysis software. The contact stress formula of the spherical plain bearings between insideand outside circle is derived by Hertz contact theory. The distribution of the bearing’s compressivestress is carried out without considering joint bearing clearance and with rigidity of the inner, and themaximum compressive stress points is derived at the same time by the bearing radial load and axialload. The calculation formula for the composite self-lubricating spherical plain bearing is derived.The finite element model of self-lubricating spherical plain bearings is built for analyzing thestress and deformation of the liner under static load rating by using the static analysis; and the stressand deformation of the liner in the case of inner swing is analyzed by using the transient dynamicanalysis.The tribological properties of glass fiber, bronze, poly phenyl ester, etc., as a filler of PTFEcomposites by tribology experiments is researched under different loads and speeds, and the bestworking condition of the materials is discussed according to the experimental results, which providesexperimental evidence for the selection of the liner materials in different conditions.
