As an important control and protection equipment in electric power system, switch cabinet is the key component of the smart grid, it plays an important role in the power supply and distribution system as well as smart grid. With the construction and development of smart grid, The China State Grid Corp put forward the specific principles and requirements for the intelligent electric power equipment, people’s demand for power system intelligence and stability is always getting higher and higher. Traditional switch cabinet commonly used electromagnetic mechanical structure to achieve control, distribution and other functions, there are many deficiencies in the operation control, upgrading the switch cabinet, develop a highly efficient and environmentally friendly intelligent switch-gear will play an important role to realize the intelligent distribution network.This thesis mainly develops a new type of intelligent control device, which is equipped in the power system medium voltage switch cabinet. The design of the whole device is made up of several function modules, according to the needs of users, configuring the corresponding function module. In this thesis, mainly include the power quality acquisition module, electric grounding knife and chassis vehicle control module and switch cabinet internal temperature and humidity acquisition module, setting measurement, control and communication and other functions in one, the function module will be set on the main control module through the field high speed bus to achieve the configuration and flexibility of the device.In the concrete analysis research: First of all, according to the device requirements, functional requirements, technical indexes and design principles, overall design scheme is given; Secondly, the specific design and implementation of the main control module is designed and implemented: Select the embedded Linux operating system as the development platform, with AM3354 processor as the core, completing data reading, processing, communication and display tasks; Development and transplantation of Qt and design a friendly man-machine interactive GUI interface; Communication protocol between each function module and main control module to realize the mutual communication through the MODBUS communication protocol; Thirdly, the software and hardware of the three functional modules are analyzed and designed, also, the related tests were carried out respectively; Finally, the communication between the control device and the host computer is established through the Ethernet, completing the real-time monitoring, data acquisition and the corresponding control instructions.Test results show that: The new type of intelligent switch cabinet control device we developed can monitor the actual operation situation of the switch cabinet, measure data, acquire data and control. The power quality acquisition module can collect the voltage and current value in real time and ensure the accuracy; The electric control module can realize electric control chassis and grounding knife as well as breaking and closing switch circuit breaker; Temperature and humidity measurement and control module can collect the temperature and humidity data in real time and make feedback control. Providing analysis basis for the change trend of important parameters, providing real-time operation information for intelligent power grid state maintenance, improving the utilization rate of equipment, achieving the desired function, thus verify the feasibility of the new intelligent switch cabinet control device.
