As electric bicycles have advantages on flexibility, convenience, low-carbon and other aspects, they can make up for the insufficiency of other traffic tools effectively. Electric bicycles have played an important role in city traffic, and became the indispensable traffic tool in people’s daily life. The increasing number of electric bicycles has not only brought series of difficulties on traffic management, but also hidden perils of traffic safety. Therefore, it is significant both on theory and practice to study the traffic characteristics of electric bicycle. Electric bicycle macro traffic characteristics can be divided into signalized intersection traffic characteristics and road section traffic characteristics. This article mainly carried out deepened discussion on the macro traffic characteristics and the micro traffic characteristics on drivers’ traffic behaviors.The traffic characteristics of electric bicycles on road section were studied. Firstly, this article analyzed the basic relationship between speed, density, traffic flow of electric bicycles on road section according to the experiment data, on the basis of which the relationship between traffic flow and density of electric bicycles was researched, and the best traffic flow density was calculated to determine the data belong to no congestion. Lastly, according to the researches on traffic characteristic of electric bicycles at non-barrier section, this article got the critical speed of electric bicycles crossing vehicle-bicycle separation lines, critical density and critical traffic flow. Simultaneously, the probability model between traffic flow of electric bicycles and the adjacent vehicle flow was built to describe the phenomenon of electric bicycle crossing vehicle-bicycle separation lines.In accordance with the researches on traffic characteristics of electric bicycles at signalized intersection, arrival distribution of electric bicycles during certain interval was proved to conform to negative binomial distribution by using the theory and methods of mathematical statistics. Subsequently, the releasing process of electric bicycles was described to get the recommended value of releasing saturation flow. When electric bicycles get through intersection, it was put forward that linear regression model between speed and driving direction, drivers’ gender, releasing period, interference of right-turning motors. Meanwhile, the conflict probabilistic model between electric bicycles and right-turning motor was set up on the basis of releasing regulation, arrival rate and conflict condition. Finally, researching significantly influence factors on microscopic crossing behavior of straight-running electric bicycles at signalized intersection, the logistic regression model was established and verified, which considered the car types, the near motor speed, the gap or lap, the electric bicycles’ speed and state. |
