With the increasing development of modern automobile technology, people’s living standards have markedly improved, automotive electronics equipment continues to increase, the high demands on the performance of the car is increased, as the most important parts of engines, the running state of engines has an immediate impact on the normal running of the vehicle and its safety. Therefore, it is imperative to monitor the real-time monitoring of various parameters of the vehicle engine.As engines have more operating state of the engine parameters, acquisition frequency is higher, data is huge. in the process of network transmission, it is easy to send network congestion, in order to reduce the probability of the occurrence of network congestion, improve the transmission rate. Therefore, in this paper,an engine parameter acquisition system is designed based on he LZW data compression algorithm. The main contents are as follows:(1) The high speed engine parameter acquisition module is designed based on CAN bus. With MC9S08DZ60 as the main chip, collocation other peripheral circuit,complete the real-time acquisition of the operating state of the engine parameters.(2) The CAN communication interface module is designed. Because the PC can not be received the acquisition of signal directly, and the function of CAN module is to realize the communication between PC and low machine, PC through the CAN module and can bus of ECU Based on CAN bus for data communication, data transmission is realized.(3) A data compression module based on improved LZW compression algorithm is designed. LZW compression algorithm module includes two parts: data pre processing and improved LZW data compression; according to the data characteristics of engine operating parameters, though to initialize the dictionary of the LZW algorithm, dictionary look-up and dictionary size settings were optimized, less data traffic, reduce the signal space, effectively alleviate the pressure in database storage.Finally, the system test shows that,the engine parameter acquisition system is safe and reliable, and the data compression works well.
