In the world, the conventional fossil energy sources are depleted, and the environmental pollution problem has attracted people’s attention. Therefore, governments pay more and more attention to the development of renewable energy. Solar energy is inexhaustible, and does not pollute the environment in the conversion process. Solar photovoltaic power generation has many features in the solar energy conversion process, such as simple structure, the overall design, high efficiency, easy maintenance, short construction period and a quick return. It is a clean, safe and reliable renewable energy, so that the solar photovoltaic power generation as the main content of energy revolution has attracted extensive attention of the countries all over the world. But solar photovoltaic system still has many problems which mainly include unstable output, need of the energy storage device and low efficiency caused by maximum power point tracking operation problems. In this paper, super capacitor is used energy storage element, and updated SCM(single-chip microcomputer) is used the controller for maximum power point tracking. It is a good way to solve some problems of the solar photovoltaic power generation system.This paper focus on photovoltaic power generation system based on super capacitor energy storage and consists of the following four parts:1. This paper first introduces the solar photovoltaic panel’s composition and its advantages and disadvantages. And then analyzes the working principle of solar photovoltaic battery, its equivalent circuit, established its mathematical model. By modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink, the feasibility of the model is verified, finally analyzes its V-I characteristic and V-P characteristic.2. In the second part, the working principle and energy storage principle of the super capacitor is introduced, and combined with other chemical battery, the advantages and disadvantages of the super capacitor and the equivalent circuit are analyzed. Then, the MATLAB/Simulink simulation of the super capacitor is built by the corresponding parameters of the super capacitor in the hardware. We further understand the super capacitor through its analysis of the charging and discharging characteristics.3. In the third part, the volt ampere characteristic and the output characteristic of the solar photovoltaic battery are analyzed by the simulation, the maximum power point tracking principle of the solar photovoltaic power generation is introduced briefly. Then some widely used methods are introduced, such as constant voltage method, open voltage method,perturbation and observation method and incremental conductance method, a three-gravity comparison method, and analyzed their advantages, disadvantages and applicability[1]. Finally,an improved maximum power point tracking method partition-variable step hill-climbing method is proposed.4. The simulation study of solar photovoltaic power generation system based on super capacitor energy storage was carried out to verify its feasibility in this final installment. Next,according to the simulation experiment of the improved maximum power point tracking algorithm and other methods, show that the improved algorithm can increase the anti interference ability of the system significantly and improve the operation efficiency of the system.This paper designs a photovoltaic power generation system with small power experiment hardware platform based on super capacitor energy storage device, by means of the experiments analyzed the role of super capacitor in the system. Finally, simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility and stability of the system.
