The traffic pressure is increasing rapidly in recent years due to urban development and population growth. So many cities in our county start to build subway. Open-cut method is commonly used in subway station construction. However, there are many safety accidents happened in the subway station construction, causing many casualties and property damage. Therefore, to enhance the safety management of the risk is of vital importance.Firstly, based on the theory and the process of subway construction by open-cut method, we get the WBS, meanwhile, by the analysis of 31 typical safety accidents happened in recent ten years, combined with expert surveys, 8 resources of risk were teased out and the RBS was built up. Then combine WBS and RBS and use literature review, 40 safety risk factors in construction were recognized. Thus, we get the initial list of safety risk in the construction of subway station by open-cut method.Secondly, based on the analysis of risk evaluation methods, the risk evaluation model of subway station construction by open-cut method was built up according to Analytical Hierarchy Approach and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation method.Based on the model, the paper evaluate the safety risk in the construction of subway station by open-cut method. Then, combined with construction characteristics, we get to analyze the corresponding measures to safety risk in terms of organization, management, economy, technology..Finally, we put the theory and model into practice. Take the case of a subway station built by open-cut method, screening the recognized initial list of risks to get the particular risk for this station; using the risk evaluation model to analyze the level of risk and set up corresponding measures for the risks which excessâ… andâ…ˇgrade. This example verifies the effectiveness and applicability of the paper and provides reference for the risk management of similar project.
