Most of the region in northern China is located in the frozen area so that the phenomenon of snow and ice on road is very common. Especially in the winter and early spring period, the ice on road form ice film easily. It threats to the safety of life, reduces the efficiency of road transport and causes traffic accidents, etc.Aiming at helping to improve traffic safety problem on asphalt pavement under the condition of snow and ice, this paper has developed anti-icing fog seal. Based on the anti-icing filler that is mature application in asphalt mixture and considering the three performance of permeability, abrasion resistance and anti-freezing adhesion, it is developed by different types and quantity of materials, and designed experiments to verify its performance. The content of the research is as follows:(1) Designed evaluation method and determined the types of base materials.According to the requirements of service performance and the characteristics of fog seal, determined the three performance of permeability, abrasion resistance and anti-freezing adhesion as design objectives. Designed the quantitative evaluation method of permeability, and seeked the other two evalution method, then based the evaluation methods of permeabllity and abrasion resistance, determined the types of asphalt, emulsifier and permeable agent(2) Multi-target optimization Based on orthogonal test design.Relying on the theory of orthogonal design, the four factors of four levels orthogonal table which contains the base materials’ types and scopes has been carried on. Through the range analysis, analyzed the impact of various factors on the objective performance, and explained the causes. Using matrix analysis to three kinds of target performance optimization design, the optimal formula was determined.(3) The verification of anti-icing fog seal material’s service performanceAccording to the solidification characteristics of anti-icing fog seal and the influence of the anti-sliding performance of indoor and outdoor, put forward the material’s recommended usage. Compared the three performance of permeability, abrasion resistance and anti-freezing adhesion with other formulas, and revealed the release of active substance to show the long-term efficacy. Though the entitative engineerings, the outstanding performance was further proved.
