As a kind of flexible structure with great ability of spanning, cable-stayed bridge has obtained quite great progress and is becoming one of the most competitive bridge model in recent years. Cantilever construction is the main method for building cable-stayed bridges, and construction monitoring and controlling which are based on structural simulation analysis are very important for the successful erection of a bridge. As the computer technology develops rapidly, researches on informatization methods are paid more and more attention by the engineering field. However, how to connect informatization methods with the dealing with the information of construction of cable-stayed bridge has not been efficiently solved.In this paper, previous experts’ research work is studied and summarized. Based on above points, problems on simulation computing, informatization methods of construction monitoring and controlling for long span cable-stayed bridge are discussed and analyzed. After the introduction on practical structure analysis methods of the construction of cable-stayed bridge and informatization methods of construction monitoring and controlling of cable-stayed bridge, relevant construction monitoring software is developed by using the object-oriented programming tool named visual C++. All the functions of this software and how it works are introduced. A practical use of this software on Bandra-Worli Sea Link Project in India is presented.In the end, future development of this software is briefly discussed.
