The motorcycle is very popular in our country due to its characteristic of portable, flexible, low-used cost and so on. With the approaching of the carrying out of motorcycle Europe III & China III emission standard, the motorcycle EMS should be developed continuously in order to improve the fuel economy, power as well as emission.However, in china there exist some special problems in the motorcycle EMS research. Motorcycle is mainly used in the rural areas where need cheaper EMS, but the Europe III & China III emission standard requires more advanced small engine EMS to make sure fuel economy and low emission.Considering the difficulty of china EMS developing, a new EMS MT05-2 which is come from the Delphi/MT05 has been studied. The main contents of this thesis are:(1) The small engine EMS Delphi/MT05 hardware and software have been analyzed including single cylinder electronic control, airflow calculate, spark control and fuel control.(2) New EMS MT05-2 has been improved. It reduces costs and optimizes structure through delete MAP sensor; also avoid increasing fuel consumption and emission by MAP sensor misinformation. Use MAPEST which get from TPS and RPM estimate the manifold air pressure. This system ameliorates airflow calculate logic, spark control logic and fuel control logic, makes sure motorcycle best drivability, low fuel consumption and low emission in every special condition.(3) Through Europeâ…˘emission test cycle, EMS MT05-2 control ability was been checked through idle, acceleration, deceleration and cruise, Ignition and injection, emission and fuel consumption. It also been compared with MT05.(4) Considering motorcycle diversity, manifold air pressure estimate error was used to check MT05-2 diversity control ability, including ignition, injection, emission, fuel consumption.Research results show that: MT05-2 control ignition and injection well in every condition; Motorcycle fuel consumption is 2.43L/100km. Emission HC 0.262g/km, CO 1.629g/km, NOX 0.055g/km. Experimental results show MT05-2 can control motorcycle emission and fuel consumption well. Manifold air pressure error is about 10kpa, motorcycle with MT05-2 fuel consumption is between 2.39L/100km and 2.44L/100km, HC emission between 0.262g/km and 0.277g/km, CO between 1.383g/km and 1.629g/km, NOX between 0.054g/km and 0.087g/km. Experimental results show MT05-2 have adaptability about motorcycle diversity.MT05-2 can control motorcycle emission and fuel consumption as well as MT05, and better than MT05, it reduces cost, optimizes structure, and solves the problem of MAP sensor misinformation.
