Research On Public Library Service For Herdsmen

Since the founding of New China, as the country’s emphasis on cultural construction, people have gradually realized the importance of public cultural service system and librarianship has been developed in rural and pastoral areas because of the active promotion of the party and the government. Vast minority pastoral area of west China has over 40 nationalities. It is the place where has the low level of social development, economic backwardness, low herders cultural quality, and high incidence of poverty. Herdsmen’s production lifestyle and customs led to more problems and difficulties than other rural pastoral in Library Construction.In this context, strengthen the study of pastoral Library Construction and services is necessary. Through literature review, the author analyzes the paper selected topic background and expatiates the research status at home and abroad. Taking Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Tibet and Qinghai, the four pastoral areas for example, the author studies the current situation of the four public library services for pastoral nomads and researches the nomads’ information requirements in Damao county of Inner Mongolia and Yushu in Qinghai. Analysis of the pastoral problems of library public services, putting forward some suggestions and opinions to public library services combined with reality.
