"Yan’an in January" is a long communication sets. Newsletter included in the process of all " XinMIin Daily" correspondent Zhao Chaogou famous in 1944 with the Chinese and foreign reporters to visit Yan’an, Northwest tours in written. These communications initially serialized in Chongqing and Chengdu, two of "XinMin Daily", respectively with effect from July 30, 1944 and August 30 and caused a tremendous sensation in the whole society. XinMin newspaper the serial communications of 47 works and ten woodcuts collected and made "Yan’an in January," published in January 1945, and reprinted three times within five months, sales reached tens of thousands of copies."Yan’an in January" from many political, economic, cultural and social life, objective and faithful description of Yan’an political life, depicting the distinctive character of Yan’an and Yan’an unique customs. "Yan’an in January," the publication broke the KMT news blackout, a real show in Yan’an majority of the audience’s eyes.
