A Study On The Mechanism Of The Impact Of International Trade On Labor Productivity

International trade and labor productivity are always the hot subjects of research in academia, as Ricardo’s theory of comparative advantage attributed international trade to differences in labor productivity. But the impact of International trade on labor productivity is still relatively few in research. Labor productivity is an important indicator of living standards, with the continuous development of international trade, clarify the impact mechanism of international trade on labor productivity has important practical significance.This thesis focuses on the impact mechanism of international trade on labor productivity. Main content is divided into four parts:The first part is related theory and literature review. Carding research of the relationship between labor productivity and international trade, and analysis impact mechanism of international trade on labor productivity for establish of theoretical model and empirical analysis. The second part is the theoretical model. Provide a theoretical basis for the empirical analysis through theoretical analysis. The third part is the empirical analysis section. Firstly, research the impact of international trade on labor productivity through technology according to empirical international trade data of China form2000to2009. Secondly, by analyzing china’s eastern, central and western regions’typical province, research the impact of international trade on labor productivity through accumulation of human resources. Thirdly, through empirical analysis and comparative analysis from Zhejiang’s foreign trade data from1992to2010, further validate the impact mechanism of international trade on labor productivity. The fourth part is conclusion and policy suggestion, which summarizes the conclusion of the research, and puts forward the corresponding advices. Through the empirical analysis, the basic conclusions of the thesis are as follows:(1) International trade plays a catalytic role on labor productivity through technology. This is the foundation of free trade.(2) Impact of international trade on labor productivity through human capital accumulation is uncertain; it depends on the human capital accumulation speed of the department. It is also the foundation of industrial policy. On the basis of the above conclusions, some policy suggestions are put forward as follows:(1)Encourage free trade, encourage competition, and strengthen technology transfer and absorption.(2)Develop appropriate industrial policy, optimize the industrial structure, and promote industrial upgrading.
