digital technology can help the industrial industry to improve the efficiency and quality of production,circulation,distribution,consumption and other links,and reshape the productivity development mode,Reconstructing the organizational structure of production,improving the efficiency and Management level of Industrial Industry.Therefore,with the advent of industrial 4.0 and made in China industrial revolution.We must correctly realize that the industrial era with traditional resources as the factor of production has passed,and the era of industrial digitization based on the "data" factor has come,so it is very important to understand and analyze the relationship between the application of digital technology and industrial labor productivity under the background of the digital age,Only by deeply analyzing the relationship between the two,can we correctly understand the opportunities and challenges brought by the application of digital technology to enhance labor productivity.The literature on the application of digital technology and economic growth is not very rich,and most of the existing literature focuses on the definition of digital technology,definition and analysis of the impact on economic growth and industrial structure,but relatively few on the relationship between the application of digital technology and labor productivity.On the basis of literature reading,this paper focuses on the productivity performance brought about by the application of digital technology,which enriches the research perspective of digital technology application and labor productivity.First of all,this paper combs the application of digital technology and the measurement of labor productivity theory and measurement index,theoretically analyzes and judges the influence of digital technology application on industrial labor productivity,and analyzes the influence mechanism between the two,and puts forward three hypotheses,that is,the application of digital technology improves labor productivity,and it will affect the performance of labor productivity through the effect of technological innovation and the adjustment of industrial structure.Secondly,the present situation and development of digital technology application and the performance of industrial labor productivity in China are analyzed.Thirdly,the panel model is used to analyze the relationship between digital technology application and industrial labor productivity.A quantitative analysis was carried out,The empirical results show that:(1)the application of digital technology has improved the industrial labor productivity of our country to a certain extent,and its positive influence is still significant when using industrial comparative labor productivity to carry on the robustness test.(2)on the one hand,the application of digital technology can improve the production efficiency and management efficiency through the effect of technological innovation,and then improve the labor productivity,this hypothesis has passed the test of the intermediary effect model;On the other hand,the empirical results show that the industrial structure has a masking effect on the application of digital technology and industrial labor productivity.This paper further discusses the possible reasons for the masking effect;(3)It is found that the positive effect of the digital technology application on the industrial labor productivity can be different from the level of the digital technology;In addition,the influence of the application of digital technology on the eastern,central and western regions is also different.On the whole,due to the richer material basis and human resources,the marginal effect of the application of digital technology is higher in the eastern region,and the marginal effect of the promotion of the role is greater in the western region because of the poor digital foundation.Finally,combining the theoretical analysis and the empirical result,the paper puts forward the policy suggestions for how to play the positive influence brought by the digital technology and then to promote the better economic development.
