The Development Of Tourism In Small Towns From The Perspective Of Anthropology

Tangyu is located in the southeast of Mei County, Shaanxi province, situated at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains,with a total area of171square kilometers,38,000of the total population, it is the largest town in Mei County and owns the most agricultural population in this area. As the main peak Taibai Mountain of Qinling is located in the town, coupled with its high-quality hot spring resources, under the led of Tangyu Forest Farm director Yang Wenzhou, the town took the lead in the development of the tourism in Shaanxi province since the early nineties. From the Mei County, Tangyu Foreat Park, Shaanxi province, was founded in March1988, promoted to national forest park in August1991to July2001when Yang Wenzhou was dead, Taibaishan National Forest Park turned to be one of the first batch of seven national AAAA level tourist area in Shaanxi province in January,2001. During the ten years, the modern tourism of Tangyu grew out of noting, getting backward to flourishing, has greatly changed the economic landscape of Tangyu, as well as Mei County, changed the backward situation of the local economy, at the same time, the tourism of Tangyu has turned to be a banner of mountain tourism in Shaanxi Province. However, from2000to2001, the development of Tangyu tourism has been challenged by other homogeneous scenery spot along the the north side of Qinling, combined with the disorder of the management system, the development of Tangyu tourism fell into a "cycle", it was less than satisfactory and hard to pick up after several reformation.Since September,2011, the new leadership of Mei County carried out sweeping reform on the Tangyu tourism, by the end of August,2012, a once-in-a-century flood completely destroyed the most infrastructure which was founded in the last twenty years, the Tangyu tourism development had to hit the pause button, along with the ups and downs of the tourism development, the economic structure, production, lifestyles, social attitudes of residents also changed constantly.This article attempts to take the perspective of anthropology to combing and analysis the rise and fall of Tangyu, reflect the pros and cons of development of Tangyu tourism, and make the analysis of the current state and the development predict risk of Tangyu development and its ilk towns. This article is divided into four parts,"ntroduction","Tangyu tourism development history stage","the present situation and planning of Tangyu development" and "the development road and reflection of Tangyu".In the introduction part, mainly combed the predecessors’ research results and the research approach of this study on taibai mountain, Tangyu, tourist town, and anthropological.The second part, take time to develop as a clue, divide the development of Tangyu into four part,"pre Yang Wenzhou period","Yang Wenzhou period","from post Yang Wenzhou period to the2011reformation","new period", through consulting relevant data and interviews, combing the Tangyu tourism development since the Republic of China in the form of memorabilia.The third part, through the author’s field investigation, combined with search for documents and data, comprehensive display the current development and future planing of Tangyu tourism.The fourth part, comprehensive summarize the historical stage since the development of Tangyu tourism, analyze the relationship and Game phenomenon between the relevant stakeholders, then, reflect and anticipate the future risk of Tangyu and other ilk towns.
