Abstract/Summary:
The economics is developing quickly today in China, but we find quite number of companies did or doing something with bad impact on public’s interest like food security, environment protection, etc. for their better financial result. Those companies, while destroyed people’s common interest and the image of Chinese company over the world, also destroyed their future partially or completely. That is linked to their lack of sustainable development strategy, lack of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Some of them don’t know what is CSR and why they need to take that, some of them have misunderstanding on CSR, and some consider CSR bringing them additional financial cost, and have negative impact on company’s development by hurting shareholder’s interest. This essay, by describing the practice how L’Oreal group take CSR, aim to help Chinese company better understand what is CSR; to better understand how to put CSR together with company’s developing strategy; to understand the importance and feasibility to take care stakeholder’s interest by L’oreal’s CSR program with his suppliers in China. The case of L’oreal, which successfully put CSR together with his business development, show that all companies should conceive CSR from strategic level; complete Corporate Governance is the solid foundation to take CSR; CSR is not only the expectation from public, but much more, it is the sustainable development strategy!...
