Due to the geographical position close, China and ASEAN has good relationship in trade since ancient times. After join WTO in 2001, Chinese began to implement the export oriented trade policy, aim to expand the international market and take use of the surrounding environment advantage, Chinese and ASEAN signed the economic cooperation framework agreement, which means the economic and trade cooperation in ASEAN and China has entered into a new stage. Chinese and ASEAN import and export amounted to 415.9 hundred million in 2001 and 4435.98 hundred million in2013, an increase of nearly 11 times. But as the scope and scale expansion of trade between China and ASEAN as well as economic cooperation, trade friction is also increasing, according to Chinese trade remedy network statistics, China has been launched 86 trade remedy measures from ASEAN between1996 to 2013.In order to understand the reasons and find solutions for the trade friction between China and ASEAN, we take the mercantilism, infant industry protection theory, trade protectionism and new trade protectionism as the theoretical basis, combined qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis to research the main trade products, trade intensity, as well as trade remedy measures between china and ASEAN. In addition, we have established a measurement model based on the data from 2001-2013 to analysis the reason and impact of trade remedy measures between china and ASEAN.In general, the main content of this article can be divided into four parts:The first part is mainly about trade status of Chinese and ASEAN. Firstly, this part has analyzed the trade scale, which contains the total import and export data from2001 to 2013 in the form of chart. Secondly, this paper has analyzed China’s market distribution and the main import and export products in ASEAN, we can learn that Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia is China’s main export market, while Malaysia,Thailand and the Philippines is China’s major import market. Finally, we analyzed thetrade intensity between Chinese and ASEAN through calculating the export trade intensity index and import trade intensity index. The second part is mainly about the trade friction between China and ASEAN.China’s trade remedy information network statistics has been used to analyze the number of trade remedy measures between china and ASEAN from 1996 to 2013. The focus has been placed on the metallurgical industry, chemical industry, building materials industry and textile industry, which often involved in trade friction..The third part is mainly about the causes and influence of the trade friction between China and ASEAN. In order to find the reason and effect of trade friction we have used qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis respectively, and finally concluded that the main cause of trade friction between China and ASEAN is countries trade protection is warming after the financial crisis as well as China’s market share in ASEAN is rising. Trade friction increase will reduce the total trade volume of import and export, increase the trade cost as well and reduce the growth rate of imports and exports, which is harmful to the development of bilateral trade between.China and ASEAN.The fourth part is mainly about suggestions and countermeasures. We have put forward the countermeasures from the angle of the government, enterprises and industry association respectively. In my eyes the government should build, adjust and improve the trade policy and system, at the same time improve the trade structure between China and ASEAN. While enterprise should take advantage of the relevant provisions of trade remedy measures, and improve the export structure, pay attention to strengthen the cooperation with ASEAN local importers and built a sound financial system. Industry associations need to strengthen the supervision and give guidance to export enterprises, cultivate professional talents and establish a special fund for trade friction.
