A Study On Vietnam 's Textile Export To The United States

With the strong development of the worldwide economic globalization, international trade has become a vital part in each country’s economic development. International trade has played a huge role in the economy of a country, it not only promote the local economy and the integration of the world economy, but also develop the advantages of a country, solve all the problems of the employment. For each country, promoting export is the trend of economic development, especially Vietnam is one of developing countries, so promoting the development of export is one of great strategic significance. After Vietnam joined the world trade organization (WTO), Vietnam textile industry have more opportunity to contact with advanced technology, high quality informative service, good management experiences and also could enjoy equal tariffs among member countries. In textile exports, Vietnam has unique advantages, such as political stability, high efficiency, low labor costs, as well as the diversity of clothing, and so on. Nowadays, in the world market, Vietnamese textile could more and more make sure its credibility and has become one of the highest national textile export countries.Vietnam’s textile industry is one of the pillar industries of the national economy, it is Vietnam’s main export sector. For developing countries, Vietnamese textile industry does not require too much investment with low risk, but also a quick profit, this textile industry can also facilitate the industry to attract sufficient labor to ensure the needs of domestic consumption and exports. Vietnam’s textile industry is one of the major sectors of government to promote exports, in order to further promote Vietnam’s textile exports, it is necessary for us to research Vietnam’s the status of textile industry development, then find out its problems.The United States, as an important economic partner of Vietnam, has been become one of the main countries of Vietnam’s textile exports. Vietnam’s exports to the United States with an extremely wide range of products, such as, footwear, seafood, coffee, especially the textile product. In recent years, especially since July13rd2000, Vietnam and the United States signed a bilateral trade agreement for the textile industry export, andthis has opend up a new prospect for trading corporation between the two countries. The Amount of money of Vietnam’s textile exports to the United States increases sharply, the amount of textile export in Vietnam to the US accounted for more than40%of total export amounts. There is no doubt that the United States is Vietnam’s largest export market for textiles. Therefore, in order to get to know more about the data and informationof Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports to the US market,I decided to choose "Vietnam’s textile exports of American problems" as the topic of my study. This study aims to research the status of Vietnam’s textile exports to the United States, and find out the of problems existing in trading, then combine with the actual situation in Vietnam, giving out some suggestions to improve Vietnam’s textile exports to the US market countermeasures.
