Analysis Of World System Theory And Its Enlightenment To China 's Development

As the World-Systems Theory’s concerned, modern world-system is origined from “the extended sixteenth century”. Because of the different situation of Modernization Theory, Immanuel Wallerstein studies from Africa in the twentieth century to Europe in the sixteenth century in order to explore the real reason of undevelopment. Immanuel Wallerstein uses the method of “Long Term” and Kondratieff Cycle Theory, using the World-Systems Analysis to deconstruct the modern world-system, and the World-Systems Theory reckons that the modern world-system is a capitalist economic system. There is a construction of “Core- Semi periphery- Periphery” as well as an outer competitive field. They can interchange with each other. The division is origined from the difference of labor division owning to the difference of capitalism economy development. The system uses capital and exploitation as the tool of protecting itself.Via the comparative analysis to “World History Theory” of Marx, we can see the similarity of the two such as Class Analysis Theory and Capital Accumulation Theory. The Dependency Theory offers theory frame and analysis perspective, however, adding into the semi periphery, World-Systems Theory is more reasonable. Giovanni Arrighi states the economy as “finance expand”, and the feature of stages of hegemony is the expand of trade and production. Comparing to the Three-Worlds Theory and Global Capitalism Theory, we can learn more about the situation of modern capitalism.The World-Systems Theory highlights the construction of “periphery countries” and Chinese characteristics socialism. In order to develop, “periphery countries” need to participate in making international rules, striving for discourse power in international affairs, changing the development pattern of depending and economy pattern. As a new force, China adds deepened reform of market economy into the perspective of participating modern world-system.
