As range test technology develops continuously, the test content becomes more and more integrated, diversified, even complicated. Meanwhile the testing methods are also increasingly integrated and comprehensive. Especially in the environment of the field test, it is even more important to ensure the portable performance, integrated performance and reliability of the whole system. In order to ensure the usability and reliability of field instrument system, and preliminarily prove subsequent processing algorithms, it requires a flexible and convenient way to generate test simulating signal. Such problems always can not be solved in manner of ordinary signal generators.This topic is mainly based on DDS technology and ARM technology to design a signal generator with high portability and flexibility. Not only is it able to achieve the function commonly used signal waveform, but also it realizes the manual interactive rendering function waveform. The design depends on the Tiny6410 development board as the control platform, the AD9954 DDS chip is chosen as the waveform generation kernel module. With operating system of Linux, QT application graphics development package is employed to implement interactive graphical user interface, and to realize the hand-crafted curve generating. Through the application of three spline interpolation algorithm, under the condition of ensuring the validity of user hand-crafted waveform, which realizes the phase subdivision of arbitrary waveform to meet the technical requirements of DDS chip.Experimental study results show that this paper completes the hand-crafted arbitrary waveform generator and achieves the basic functions of hand-crafted to generate arbitrary waveform.And through the way of direct inputting parameters, to achieve a variety of common standard waveform output function. The amplitude range of the output signal is 0.5V~5V, the maximum frequency is 200 MHz. However, in the interactive drawing function, the system’s fluency needs to be improved, and the user experience needs to be improved.
