In order to improve the survival ability of tanks and armored vehicles, active protection system plays a vital role in the process of defensive operation. According to the current research status about active protection systems both domestic and foreign, this paper proposes an active protection system based on distributed MEFP, and the design of interception ammunition, ammunition launcher and servo platform is completed. Combined with numerical analysis and experimental research, the damage probability of interception ammunition attacking target is completed.This paper combines with the characteristics of explosively formed projectile (EFP), it designs a distributed MEFP warhead as the interception ammunition of the system, the structure scheme design of the distributed MEFP warhead and flight parameters is given, and a corresponding ammunition launcher is designed. According to the functional requirements of the system, this paper designs a servo platform which driven by flexible cable, and establishes the position inverse solution model of the servo platform.In the interception of active protection system attacking target, the performance of interception ammunition plays an important role in this system. This paper proposes the characteristics and damage mechanism of distributed MEFP warhead. Taking JDAM as a typical target, according to the characteristics of JDAM and its damage mechanism, the vulnerability of JDAM is analyzed and the target equivalent model is established. The shot-line technology is used to establish the calculation model for calculating the damage probability to target by distributed MEFP warhead. The Monte-Carlo simulation for damage probability is carried out on the basis of MATLAB. The study provides valuable reference for the power design of distributed MEFP warhead.Finally, the ground dynamic interception experimental is carried out according to the results of numerical simulation, and the experimental data are analyzed. The above research results have reached the expected goal and verified the feasibility of active protection system based on distributed MEFP in the actual defensive operation.
